There are a few good practices one must follow while pricking. This will make sure that you have enough blood for a test after one prick. Warm up your hand before pricking. Wash your hands with warm water and soap or use an alcohol swab on the finger to be pricked. Let the alcohol evaporate completely or wipe it with a cotton ball before you prick. Always prick your non dominant hand's ring or index finger. Always wipe off the first drop of blood with a fresh cotton ball. Never apply too much pressure near the prick to ooze blood.
